Start Your Police Career

The best police officers bring the best version of themselves to their duties each and every day, dealing with a variety of tests and challenges.

What better way to start your police career by bringing the best version of yourself to the Police Scotland Assessment Centre, a key part of the recruitment process - a test and challenge in itself.

At Police Recruiting Scotland our aim is to help you bring the best version of you to the Police Scotland police officer recruitment Assessment Centre, maximise your performance and improve your chance of achieving your wish of becoming a police officer.

The features of the recruitment process that applicants are often least familiar with, and have the lowest levels of confidence in, are the Police Scotland Standards of Professional Behaviour and Competency and Values Framework These are essential elements of the Assessment Centre and the overall application process.

The Police Assessment Centre Experience

We understand an Assessment Centre may be a new experience to you and outwith your comfort zone.  We provide one day, in person coaching to familiarise you with each of the individual and group elements of the Assessment Centre process.

Our Assessment Centre coaching will increase your understanding of these standards, behaviours, competencies and values. Additionally, it will highlight the importance of these factors in becoming a police officer, their relevance to the application process and, in particular, the Assessment Centre.

Former police officers with decades of experience as assessors, trainers and mentors, and a proven track record in supporting applicants to become police officers in Scotland and Northern Ireland, will provide you with tips and techniques to deal with individual tests and group challenges in Assessment Centre scenarios.

Your personal learning style will be accommodated whether it is visual, listening, reading, experiential or reflective.

Reading the Standards of Professional Behaviour and Competency and Values Framework, listening to our coaches, watching others participate in exercises and participating in an exercises yourself, will increase your confidence, assist you in demonstrating the best version of yourself and improve your performance at the Assessment Centre.
